OGH Celebrates 50 Years of Service

Amazing milestone not easy in rural communities.

This year Ochiltree General Hospital is celebrating its golden anniversary, having served the region for more than five decades. Over the years, the local medical center has become the ideal option for local healthcare services.

“It’s amazing to reflect on how far Ochiltree General Hospital has come from our humble beginnings till now,” says Robert Pascasio, CEO of OGH. “From a single hospital to a healthcare system that also runs a medical clinic, home health and hospice services, and even an assisted-living community, the region is very fortunate to have local access to these important services.”

Today OGH is among the best rural healthcare facilities in the state, equipped with the right technology and medical experts. In fact, approximately 90 percent of all healthcare needs can be delivered locally by OGH.

The hospital’s history began in the early 1960s, when the booming population of Perryton began stretching the capabilities of two privately owned hospitals in the community. With the rapidly evolving needs of the region, a bond issue was passed to fund development of the new hospital district.

Over the decades, OGH grew in size and capabilities to provide all the essential healthcare needs for the region, providing general medical and surgical care for inpatient, outpatient and emergency-room patients.

The situation is similar for the hospital’s medical staff, as active staff physicians specialize in several areas. From family medicine to obstetrics and orthopedics, they have widespread and first-class expertise

OGH strives to ensure that top-of-the-line care is available locally from expert physicians, highly skilled medical professionals and technology that rivals that offered in large metropolitan hospitals. These services benefit not only Perryton residents but also [finish sentence]

“Surrounding communities have access to an amazing array of healthcare services,” Pascasio says. “Knowing who to trust and where to go is why we’re here.”
