Respiratory Therapy


The Respiratory Therapy Department at Ochiltree General Hospital offers comprehensive patient care to our community 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.  At Ochiltree General, the Respiratory Therapy Department focuses exclusively on conditions affecting the heart and lungs.  


The Respiratory Therapy Department at OGH offers treatments for a variety of chronic respiratory diseases including asthma, bronchitis and emphysema. Our  full-time respiratory therapists provide cardiopulmonary testing including pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gases. Services available, include: 


  • Electrocardiograms (EKG)

  • Stress tests

    • Treadmill

    • Chemical

  • Breathing treatments

  • Oxygen therapy

  • Chest percussion/postural drainage

  • Sleep studies

  • Pulmonary function testing

  • Arterial blood gases

  • Neopuffs on infant incubators

  • 24-hour heart monitors

  • 24-hour oxygen monitors

  • Glide scopes

  • Education on asthma and other breathing issues

The Respiratory Therapy Department at OGH utilizes state-of-the-art equipment including a ventilator and Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP) machine when needed, and an oxygen tent for children. The department  also supports all cesarean (c-section) births at Ochiltree General,  are available for normal deliveries and serve as part of the code team as well.
