Sophisticated laboratories in community hospitals are few and far between. Recognizing the important role clinical labs have in hospital environments, Ochiltree General Hospital has always had a commitment to the people of Ochiltree County to maintain their lab capabilities.

The laboratory at Ochiltree General is tested continually, using actual samples, by the American Proficiency Institute to ensure all laboratory tests are executed accurately so that labs of all sizes nationwide get the same results.  Every laboratory in the U.S. is held to the same standard with each facility being inspected regularly by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)through the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) Program.  The laboratory at Ochiltree General Hospital also works under the supervision of a pathologist.
