Ochiltree General Hospital Offering COVID-19 Testing

April 2, 2020 – As an update to our community, Ochiltree General Hospital would like to clarify that we are offering COVID-19 testing right here at home to those individuals who meet certain criteria. Your local hospital continues to actively monitor all updates from the Texas Department of Health and the Center for Disease Control in regard to COVID-19. Currently, there are no reported positive cases of COVID-19 in Ochiltree County.

If you have symptoms including fever, sore throat, cough or difficulty breathing, please call your primary care physician before going to the clinic or Emergency Department. They will instruct you on what to do next.

If you are a vulnerable and/or immunosuppressed patient needing to have labs drawn and would feel more comfortable waiting in your vehicle, we are happy to accommodate you. Simply call the Main Hospital line at 806-435-3606 to make arrangements. Admissions staff will then come to your vehicle to complete any needed paperwork before a Laboratory staff member comes out to draw your sample.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding COVID-19, please do not hesitate to contact myself, Jyme Kinnard, at jlkinnard@oghtx.com, Chief Nursing Officer Kelly Judice, RN, at kjudice@oghtx.com or call the hospital main line at 806-435-3606.

Sincerely,

Jyme Kinnard, RN, ACNO, Infection Control
