Capital Campaign Update

September 9, 2019 – In March of 2018, the Ochiltree General Hospital Board of Directors took a very big step toward ensuring the future of medical care in Perryton and Ochiltree County. That step was the establishment of the OGH Healthcare Foundation. The Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) foundation as approved by the IRS, which is dedicated to the future healthcare needs of the communities within the Ochiltree County Hospital District service area.

Shortly after its establishment, the Foundation set out to raise funds for future healthcare requirements under the direction of the Fundraising Committee. Mary Betty as well as Brent and Pat Allen are co-chairmen of the Committee with Charlotte Rhoades serving as the Campaign Advisor. Fundraising Committee members include: Mike Blank; Charlotte Hale; Tammie and Ren Hensley; Barbara and Dr. Dale Johnson; Halston and Ryan Johnson; Sandy and Sammy Judice; Margaret Limas; Cami and Dr. Randy Skaggs; Sarah and Blake Tregellas; Janet and Rocky Tregellas; and Suzanne and Barry Willis. Assisting the Fundraising Committee are Lynsey McAnally, Leroy Schaffner and Debbie Blodgett.

H. C. Brillhart, Jr. is serving as the Honorary Committee Chairman. Honorary Committee members include: Megan and Dr. Jay Blasingame; Betty Caddel; Becky and Dr. Manon E. Childers, III; Susan and Harold Courson; Krista and Kirk Courson; Jessica and Dr. Blake DeWitt; Lori and Phil Dollar; Sharon and John Ellzey; Toni and Keith Good; Virl LaMunyon; Donna and Dr. Rex L. Mann; Sam and Dr. Jenny McGaughy; Theresa and Dr. Rick Siewert; Cynthia and Mayor Kerry Symons; Steph and Donnie Tarvin; Brenna and Noon Vela; and Paige and Steve Waide.

Thus far, the Foundation has raised $1,881,695.00 in donations and pledges. Once the $2,000,000.00 level is reached, an anonymous challenge grant of an additional $1,000,000.00 will be received by the Foundation. Then grants from regional, state and national organizations and foundations will be sought out by the Committee. These initial funds will be used for new construction and renovations at Ochiltree General. A new Surgery Center is one of the important items at the top of the list of projects. The Surgery Center will be able to accommodate most general surgeries, as well as orthopedic surgeries and joint replacement surgeries.

On August 25, 2019, the full Board of Trustees of the OGH Healthcare Foundation met to adopt by-laws, elect officers, adopt policies and procedures, and authorize the officers to establish investment accounts, CDs and money market accounts. New officers of the Foundation are: Brent Allen, President; Halston Johnson, Vice President; and Chad Johnson, Secretary. Additional Board of Trustees members are: Mary Betty; Shawn Bogard; Jonathan Sell; Cynthia Symons; and Steph Tarvin as ex-officio trustee by virtue of being President of the Ochiltree General Hospital Board of Directors. Assisting the OGH Healthcare Foundation Board of Trustees are Keith Good, Ellen Orr and Debbie Blodgett.

If you would like to make an investment in the future of medical care in Perryton and Ochiltree County, the OGH Healthcare Foundation is a wonderful option to consider for individual, family, foundation or corporate contributions.
