Ochiltree General Hospital Honors Physicians on National Doctors’ Day

Local healthcare provider joins millions in nation-wide observance on March 30.

We see our physicians when we are ill and for advice to stay healthy. The services our doctors provide are key to a building a strong community. To celebrate the amazing work of local physicians, Ochiltree General Hospital (OGH) will be honoring local physicians on March 30 as part of a nation-wide observance of National Doctors’ Day.

“Our community is stronger today thanks to the amazing work our physicians provide each and every day,” says Robert “Bob” Pascasio, CEO of OGH. “With their medical expertise, combined with the compassion that our patients expect from Ochiltree General Hospital, the doctors of our community are truly the core of healthcare. In a time when many counties across the state don’t even have a local hospital, we can be very grateful for a supportive medical team.”

National Doctors’ Day was first observed on March 30, 1933, when Eudora Brown Almond conceived the idea on the anniversary of the first administration of anesthesia by Dr. Crawford W. Long in 1842. With great approval by the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, President George Bush signed a resolution into law in 1990 designating March 30 as National Doctors’ Day.
