A COVID-19 Update from Your Local Hospital

May 4, 2020 – With the announcement of mobile COVID-19 testing to be offered at the Ochiltree County Expo Center on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Ochiltree General Hospital has made the decision to temporarily suspend our daily COVID-19 Community Scorecard until such a time as results from the mobile testing are made available to our county.

In an effort to be as open and transparent with COVID-19 information and results as we possibly can be, Ochiltree General Hospital began posting our daily COVID-19 Community Scorecard to keep our community updated on current local COVID-19 statistics. However, the information from the mobile COVID-19 testing will not be made immediately available to our hospital district. To facilitate the least amount of confusion during this transitional time, OGH will suspend our daily COVID-19 Community Scorecard effective immediately to resume upon the availability of test results from the mobile testing.

Mobile testing will take place at the Ochiltree County Expo Center on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. by appointment only. To register to be tested, please visit www.txcovidtest.org or call 512-883-2400. This mobile testing opportunity is not being conducted by Ochiltree General, but through the Texas Department of State Health Services in partnership with the Texas National Guard, the Texas Division of Emergency Management, and the Texas Emergency Medical Task Force.

Ochiltree General Hospital is still offering COVID-19 testing right here at home to those individuals who meet certain criteria. Your local hospital continues to actively monitor all updates from the Texas Department of Health and the Center for Disease Control in regard to COVID-19. Currently, there have been 28 reported positive cases of COVID-19 performed at Ochiltree General Hospital. Twenty-six of those cases have been Ochiltree County residents while one resident of Lipscomb County, Texas, as well as a resident of Beaver County, Okla., have also tested positive at Ochiltree General. Discrepancies in numbers of positive test results reported by Amarillo-area news sources have been rectified and Ochiltree General’s previously reported numbers were proven correct.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding COVID-19, please do not hesitate to contact myself, Jyme Kinnard, at jlkinnard@oghtx.com, Chief Nursing Officer Kelly Judice, RN, at kjudice@oghtx.com or call the hospital main line at 806-435-3606.

Sincerely,

Jyme Kinnard, RN, ACNO, Infection Control
