Hospital District Board Appoints Interim CEO
December 21, 2018 – The Ochiltree County Hospital District Board of Directors met Friday, December 21, 2018, in a special session meeting to appoint an interim CEO who will oversee operations of the District.
The Board has named Leroy Schaffner – a 31-year veteran of healthcare administration – as interim CEO of the District effective immediately. Before coming out of retirement to join the District as interim manager for both the DeWitt Family Practice and Perryton Health Center this fall, Leroy helped build solid healthcare organizations in both Texas and Colorado. A 46-year veteran of the healthcare field, Leroy began his career as a Medical Lab Technician in the United States Army before transitioning to healthcare leadership. Prior to joining the District earlier this year, Leroy previously led the Dallam-Hartley Counties Hospital District for 22 years.
Leroy has been contracted through the Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals (TORCH) and will be a fixture within the District throughout the search and installation of a new CEO.
At this time, there is no further information regarding the search for a permanent CEO at Ochiltree County Hospital District.
